We are Nick and Amanda and we live with our daughter and her partner on our 4 acre small holding in a small hamlet close to the Mendip village of Stoke St Michael.
We are animal mad… we have 5 dogs of our own: 2 Wirehaired Vizsla girls, plus three small dogs (one being completely blind for the past 2 years due to cataracts) plus 4 cats who are used to having visiting dogs here.
Outside we have a mini Shetland pony, a small herd of pygmy goats, a large alpine goat, two badger-faced sheep, geese, ducks and chickens plus a large pond full of huge Koi Carp.
We’ve been breeding our beautiful Wirehaired Vizslas since 1999 and we are now on our fifth generation, so we have many years experience with dogs of all ages.
We have been looking after dogs for family, friends and the owners of HWV puppies we breed for some time. We have become increasingly busy by recommendation which has led to us becoming licensed and launching Pondycott Home Boarding.
People say we have an affinity with, and a real understanding of animals. We have taken in many waifs and strays - from ducks to ponies as rescues from many sources including our local animal shelter - and we always put our animals first.
As a family we are relaxed, laid back and extremely sociable and this is reflected in the relationships we build with the animals around us.
We love meeting new dogs and finding out as much as we can from their owners about their quirky ways so we are able to offer the best possible stay for them, and we pride ourselves on the level of care we can offer.
